Even when we must deal with a trial by fire or ice, we have a choice. The gate is always open.

Artist: Virginia Cole Strazdins

Artist's Comment: Even when we must deal with a "trial by fire or ice (stressful events such as illness)," we have choice.  The gate is always open to a better way, to knowledge, to wisdom, to balance, to whatever constitutes wholeness in our unique human perception.  There is no lock on the door.  Whether we choose to enter into that better place is largely up to each of us.  Passing through the door requires us to leave fear at the threshold so that we can step "into the light."  The crow, or raven, has been a cosmic symbol for many cultures, being associated with creative power, spiritual strength, solitude, primordial beginnings, and mystic powers.  It is known to those who have observed it closely as a highly intelligent and alert creature. Email Virginia @ straz@usit.net with feedback on 'Gateway'
